The Centre for Infrastructure Systems (CIS) was established within the School on 1 June 2006. It is merger of the Centre for Advanced Construction Studies (CACS), Centre for Transportation Studies (CTS) and Geotechnical Research Centre (GRC). The aim of the merger is to allow a wide range of expertise in infrastructure development to be available within one Centre as well as to achieve synergies among the various specialized fields.
